Note on analytics in conjunction with the bill of materials plugin

The bill of materials plugin is generally compatible with Pickware analytics. Please note the following special cases:

  • POS sales / POS sales by employee – Since not the sub-items but only the bill of materials item has a meaningful price assigned, the prices of the bill of materials items are calculated in these analyses. Sub-items with a price of €0 therefore do not appear separately in the calculations.

  • Picking and packing – Since all sub-items are listed as normal line items in the WMS App once the order is received, they are picked normally and appear in the statistics.

  • Stock turnover rate / sell-through rate – Since no stock entries are written for bill of materials items, they do not appear in this statistic. Sub-items are booked out of the warehouse normally after the order is received and shipped, and are listed as expected.

  • Revenue by main shop categories – Price and category settings are made on the bill of materials item. The purchase of a bill of materials item is therefore included in this analysis.

  • Gross profit – If you have set the bill of materials item to be hidden in the WMS App, it will also not be marked as shipped and therefore will not be included in the number of sales in the analysis. To have the number calculated correctly again, all bill of materials items must be manually marked as shipped. This is also possible via an SQL query using a cron job. If you need help with this, feel free to contact our support.

If a sold bill of materials item is returned, this will also lead to a distorted gross profit analysis. As a possible workaround, you can manually set the sales price of the bill of materials item in the corresponding order to 0 afterwards. This means the order will no longer be taken into account for the analysis.
