Bills of materials from the customer's perspective
In your online shop as well as at checkout, the bill-of-materials product still appears as a regular product. If you want to let your customers know which products are included in the set, you need to add this information to the product description accordingly. The availability of the bill of materials is calculated based on the availability of the associated products.
On all documents your customers receive, only the bill of materials is shown, never the associated products.
Even if the bill of materials is a variant product, it is displayed in the online shop and in the shopping cart as a regular product from the customer's perspective. There is no special display just because it is a variant. If you want to make it clear to your customers which products are included in the set, you need to add this information to the product description of the respective bill of materials or variant.
