By default, the product overview also shows you the variants of your variant products. This gives you a complete overview of all relevant product data – such as stock levels or prices – and lets you perform actions like printing barcode labels or making bulk changes directly from the overview. However, you can also disable this option if you only want to see main products.
Where do I find this option?
The display of variants is controlled via a filter option that is enabled by default. Open the product overview under Products → Overview. You can disable the filter at any time if you want to limit the view to main products again. Here's how to adjust the display:
What does it look like when the option is disabled or enabled?
In the product overview view with the option disabled, main products and their variants are displayed separately. Variant products don't appear directly in the list, but are only shown via the variants pop-up of a main product.
With the option Show variants, you can set variants to be listed directly in the product overview. This eliminates the need to open the pop-up, and you can perform actions on the variant level immediately. Once enabled, all variants of your products are also listed in the product overview:
What are the benefits of displaying variants?
Integrating variants into the product overview is especially important for actions that need to be applied to a specific selection of products. Common examples include:
Printing barcode labels: Labels can now be generated directly for variants from the product overview.
Stock changes: Changes to variant stock levels can be made collectively and efficiently.
Quick overview: All variant attributes, such as SKU, price, or stock, are visible at a glance.
