How do I perform a valuation of my stock?

For a line item from a goods receipt to be taken into account when calculating the valuated stock, a purchase price must be set. For goods receipts from supplier orders, the purchase price is usually already set on the line items; for free goods receipts, you need to add it manually.

If you increase your stock via free goods receipts, for example because you handle your supplier orders externally, you need to manually set a purchase price for the relevant line items. To do this, open the relevant goods receipt under Lagerhaltung → Wareneingänge (Warehousing → Goods Receipts) and double-click in the Einzelpreis (netto) (Unit Price (net)) column, enter the price there, and save your entry using the checkmark on the right.

You can find an overview of all created valuated stocks in your Shopware Admin under Lagerhaltung → Bewerteter Warenbestand (Warehousing → Valuated Stock). To create a new valuated stock, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Bewerteten Warenbestand erstellen (Create Valuated Stock) in the top right.

  2. Select the reference date, valuation method, and warehouse, and optionally enter a comment. Then click on Vorschau erstellen (Create Preview).

  3. You will now see a preview of your valuated stock and can either export it as a CSV file or save it at this point. However, you can also perform the export at a later time by opening the corresponding entry in the overview of valuated stocks.

Please note that only one valuated stock can be created for a given period at a time. However, you can also delete valuated stocks that have already been created via the overview if needed. If the period of the valuated stock also includes the current day, only a preview can be created at any time. The valuated stock can only be saved once the days are complete.

When you open the created report, you can view the valuation basis for each product in the Bestand (Stock) column via the truck icon. The valuation basis consists of all goods receipts and supplier orders in which the product was included at the respective price.

Which valuation methods are supported?

Valuation can be performed using LIFO, FIFO, or the weighted average of the period. When you create a new valuated stock, the valuation method you used last time is selected by default. All valuation methods have in common that at the end of a reporting period, the existing stock, including its valuation, is carried over into the next reporting period and booked there as a goods receipt. Since all goods receipts require a purchase price, Pickware ERP uses the average valuations from the previous period for this purpose.
